S'port Police investigate fatal morning crash

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Another car crash Wednesday morning ended with a fatality, according to Shreveport Police.

That accident happened around 9 a.m. at the intersection of the 1800 block of Murphy St. and Norma Ave., in Shreveport.

Police officials say that a 1995 Plymouth was T-boned by a 1999 Ford Expedition at that intersection. The Plymouth reportedly was traveling southbound on Norma crossing Murphy St when it was hit by the Expedition.

Reportedly three people were involved in that crash, the driver of the Plymouth was taken to LSU Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Police have yet to release the victim's name.

The driver of the Expedition has been identified by police as 40-year-old Barron Carter of Vivian, Louisiana and his passenger has been identified as 32-year-old Tasha Collins of Shreveport.

Both Barron and Collins were also taken to LSU Hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have yet to issue any citations at this time, but the investigation into how the crash happened is ongoing.
