LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - There are new details in a story KLTV 7 has been following since May.

Longview police are now saying a joint operation with the FBI has shut down a drug and cash funneling operation. The operation stretched from California to East Texas and resulted in eight arrests. Drugs, cash and cars were also seized in the bust.

The central figure was 26-year-old Lakendric Jamale Miller of Longview, who investigators say funneled millions through money grams and bank accounts.

"This was a big operation," said Officer Kevin Brownlee, with Longview Police. "It stopped a pipeline...coming from California to East Texas to Longview involving federal authorities California authorities, United States Attorney's Office, and Longview Police Department."

Miller is currently in federal custody and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
