Christian Ministry spotted on S'port corner asking for money

Posted: Updated:

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – The chilly weather Saturday did not stop some Shreveport residents from taking to the streets to ask for cash.

KSLA News 12 learned Saturday of a group seen collecting donations at the corner of Youree Dr. and E. Kings Hwy. in Shreveport.

The group calls itself, ‘Activated Youth Ministries', they are reportedly out of San Marcos, Texas.

When asked about their fundraising, one alleged Christian worker tells KSLA News 12, "It's for Christian Ministries, basically what we do is train missionaries to go overseas, we take youth from here in the states , they go overseas," said the worker.

The group claims to have the proper permits with the City of Shreveport to stand on the street corner, but when KSLA News 12 reporter Ben Wolf asked to see those papers, they referred him to their National Headquarters.
