3 in Lewisville accused of counterfeiting

Associated Press - November 27, 2009 11:24 AM ET

LEWISVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Police have arrested three people in Lafayette County on suspicion of printing more than $5,000 worth of counterfeit money.

Lafayette County Sheriff Victor Rose says 18-year-old Demarcus Tucker, 21-year-old Dexter Lowe and 20-year-old Edzell Wyrick were arrested this week on counterfeiting charges. The sheriff says Tucker also is accused of possessing an instrument to print money - in this case, a combination scanner and printer.

Police say the men were arrested after someone tried to use a fake $10 bill to buy a cigar at the Buzz Buy store in Lewisville. During a traffic stop, police found counterfeit money in the car and arrested the men.
