CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) – A major crash has sent three people in Caddo Parish to the hospital. It happened close to the intersection of Greenwood-Mooringsport and Devers around 8:30 p.m. Thanksgiving night. Two pick-up trucks reportedly collided head on.
Two people involved were taken to the hospital by LifeAir, and they're in critical condition.
One other person was taken by ambulance.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
According to AAA Thanksgiving is the deadliest day of the year for drivers.
On any given day, traffic accidents kill around 100 people.
But on Thanksgiving Day 2008, more than 500 people died on the nation's highways.
That can be credited to the fact that more people are on the road, and more of those people are under the influence than any other time of the year; including New Year's.
