BATON ROUGE, LA (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal attended President Barack Obama's first state dinner at the White House, to honor the Indian prime minister.
Jindal's office says the governor traveled to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday with his wife, Supriya, and returned to Louisiana a day later. Jindal, the son of Indian immigrants, is the nation's first elected Indian governor.
The state dinner included more than 300 guests that mingled with the President and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The event was billed as one of Washington's hottest social events since the inauguration.
The guest list included Hollywood insiders, members of Congress, a handful of governors and members of Obama's Cabinet, among others.
The dinner was served under a huge white tent on the South Lawn of the White House.
