KSLA credited in capturing Marion Cty. robbery suspects

Posted: Updated:

MARION COUNTY, TX (KSLA) – Two people have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of the County Line liquor store in eastern Marion County.

Authorities say the first man went in to the County Line Liquor Store just after 9:00 p.m. on Nov. 16.

Authorities credit KSLA News 12 exposure of the suspect on TV for leading to their arrest.

The suspects have been identified by authorities as 39-year-old Christopher Charles Hull of Hughes Springs, Texas and 35-year-old Tyrone Edward Gott of Naples, Texas.

A concerned citizen identified the gunman after watching media coverage of the suspect holding up a clerk at the store.

Surveillance video from the store showed the man, who police have identified as Hull, approached the clerk at the counter with two cases of beer. After setting down the beer, Hull is seen pulling a semi-automatic hand gun on the clerk and demanded the money from the cash register.

The clerk complied, and the man left the store with the two cases of beer and an unknown amount of money.

The second suspect, who police say was Gott stayed outside the store as a lookout and never entered the business.

The pair left the store in a large four-door vehicle traveling north on Highway 43 toward Atlanta.

Authorities say both men have prior convictions for felony offenses all in Texas. Police have yet to recover a weapon nor the cash that was taken during the robbery.

If convicted, Hull and Gott could face life in prison.
