HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Authorities have shot and killed a suspect in the deaths of 5 people found shot to death earlier this month in Pearcy.
Hot Springs City Attorney Brian Albright says an officer from the Garland County sheriff's office was shot in the arm and sustained other injuries while authorities tried to arrest the suspect at a Hot Springs hotel on Thursday night. The officer was taken to a Little Rock hospital.
The identities of the suspect and the officers involved in the shooting have not been released.
Hot Springs police, the Arkansas State Police and FBI agents are assisting with the investigation.
Four bodies were found early Nov. 12 in the rubble of a burned out mobile home in Pearcy and the body of a man was found in a home next door.
