
BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) –A Barksdale Air Force Base commander was recognized Tuesday afternoon for his help during the recent storms that hit Bossier City a couple of weeks ago.
KSLA News 12’s Carolyn Roy is in Bossier City for the Bossier City Council’s budget meeting. Bossier City Marshal Dean Wyatt gave BAFB Wing Cmdr Col. Steve Basham the first Humanitarian award.
Basham was presented a key to the City of Bossier City for his response and leadership in mobilizing airmen to assist in sandbagging operations along Red Chute Bayou.
In an emotional presentation, Wyatt pointed out that Col. Basham did not just show his men and women what to do, but worked right alongside them. Wyatt adds, “You saved Bossier.”
Bossier City Mayor Lorenz ‘Lo’ Walker presented Col. Basham with the key to the city.
