
NATCHITOCHES, LA (KSLA) –New details this afternoon on a fatal crash Tuesday morning in Natchitoches Parish.
Natchitoches Police are right now investigating the accident that resulted in one fatality at the Natchitoches Parish Council on Aging office.
Officials tell KSLA News 12 that the accident happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. in the parking lot, located in the 1000 block of Keyser Ave.
Authorities have identified the victim as 59-year-old Doug Byers of Natchitoches.
Police say that the driver of a 1999 Ford F-150, who has now been identified as 72-year-old Donald Rowzee was driving when he reportedly hit two parked vehicles. Rowzee's vehicle then hit the Caddo Council office, then hitting Byers.
Authorities say that as a result of the crash, Byers was pronounced dead at the scene. Rowzee, along with one of the people in the parked vehicle were taken to Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Police say a blood test was given to Rowzee and the results are still pending. The investigation into this fatal crash continues.
