Police: Guard suffered 2 stab wounds in LSU attack

Associated Press - November 15, 2009 5:34 PM ET

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU police say a security guard suffered two stab wounds in a weekend attack on campus.

Authorities continued to search for the suspect Sunday.

Sgt. Blake A. Tabor, the police spokesman, said the guard was stabbed once in her right shoulder and once in her right abdomen. The statement characterized the wounds as minor. She was treated at Baton Rouge General Medical Center Mid City and released Saturday night.

Police say the guard was working a private function at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center on Saturday morning, and she told a man he couldn't go inside. He argued, then returned about an hour and a half later and again asked to enter the building.

Tabor said when the guard refused to let the man in, she was stabbed.
