LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Sen. Blanche Lincoln says the Senate's agriculture committee will meet in Arkansas later this month for a field hearing on how to strengthen and grow Arkansas' rural economy.
Lincoln, a Democrat, is the chairwoman of Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry. The committee's field hearing is set for Nov. 23 at the Clinton Presidential Library in downtown Little Rock. A breakfast for agriculture and business leaders is planned for the next day.
The committee will hear testimony from three panels, which will focus on production agriculture and the effects of recent flooding in the state, improving rural infrastructure and successful community and economic development initiatives.
