TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) – A Texarkana, Texas man is now behind bars after reportedly robbing a Texarkana Dollar General store Sunday night.

According to police, 37-year-old Erik Hiegelmann reportedly entered the store, located in the 3500 block of New Boston Rd., around 8 p.m. with a towel over his face and socks on his hands.

Hiegelmann allegedly approached the clerk and pointed what police believe to be a gun at the clerk and demanded money. He reportedly fled the scene on foot and within minutes officers were in the area searching for him.

Hiegelmann was soon found according to officers, hiding beneath some laundry in the back bedroom of a home on Kenwood St., in Texarkana, Texas.

The suspect now faces a felony charge of robbery and a misdemeanor charge of failure to ID. He’s locked up at the Bi-State Jail.
