Bossier Police seeking motel shooting suspect

BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) – Bossier City Police continue to investigate a shooting and robbery that happened Sunday night at a local motel.

Police responded to a call at the Economy Inn in the 4400 block of East Texas Street just after 8:30 Sunday night. 34-year-old Carlos Montrell Jenkins of Bossier City told police shortly after he and another man entered a room at the motel, the man shot Jenkins twice in the face. The suspect then left the motel in Jenkins’ 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, taking his wallet as well.

Jenkins told police he did not know the other man’s name.

Jenkins was taken to LSU Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Jenkins’ car was found about an hour later in the 3200 block of Old Blanchard Road in Shreveport after it had been set on fire.

The suspect was last seen wearing a dark colored long sleeve and khaki pants.
