SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – Shreveport Fire Investigators continue to search for the cause of an early Monday morning fire that heavily damaged a home.
The fire began just before 4:00 am at a home in the 1300 block of Youree Drive in the Stoner Hill neighborhood.
Five fire companies managed to get the blaze under control by 4:30 am.
The only person in the home, 77-year-old Arthur Alexander, said he was thankful he woke up and got out before he was injured. However, his home is considered a total loss.
Investigators say the fire started in one of the bedrooms, but haven’t determined just how it started. The home did not have electricity.
