NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) - Authorities say one person was killed and five others injured in a two-vehicle accident this weekend in western Louisiana.
According to the Louisiana State Police, Marlon E. Freeney, of Natchitoches, was driving on state Highway 117 Saturday night when he lost control of his car and it hit another vehicle.
The agency said 1 of Freeney's passengers, identified as Thomas A. Urquhart III, of DeRidder, wasn't wearing a seatbelt and died. State police said Freeney and another passenger, who were both wearing seatbelts, sustained moderate injuries.
State police said the driver of the other vehicle sustained moderate injuries, while her two passengers, including an infant, had minor injuries.
