BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) -  "I condemn it in the strictest form," said Khurshid Khan, the vice president of the Islamic Association of Greater Shreveport. Khan says his and all other religions should stand against the deadly actions of army psychologist, Nidal Malik Hasan.

"They decided to tell me his name was Nidel Malik Hasan, I said oh no, there you go again," said Khan.

What motivated Hasan to allegedly go on a shooting rampage is still a mystery, although there are reports that Hasan had difficulties because he was Muslim and serving in the U.S. Military.

"Everybody respected Islam," said Khan.

Khan is also Muslim, and served in the air force for 21 years.

"It was never tough, I never claimed to be a minority, when you are an American citizen, you are an American.

"I think they ought to have a better psychological check or evaluation," said Frank Harris.

Khan shares the opinion with others that these actions were not indicative of a Muslim, but a very disturbed man.

"It's very bad, but the very fact that the man is a Muslim you could expect it, we're fighting trouble," said Rita Bailey.

But Khan doesn't agree that it was Hasan's faith that sent him over the edge.

"Because I have been a Muslim all my life, and I served honorably," said Khan.

"I don't think race had anything to do with it I just a little shook up by everything," said Courtney Young.

like khan, Hasan took an oath of loyalty to the military.

But reportedly, hasan had a conflict within.
