Alleged kidnapper arrested by Shreveport Police

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -Shreveport Police officers investigated a reported kidnapping that occurred Wednesday morning in west Shreveport.

A little after 10:30 a.m. police officers were called out to a home in the 6100 block of Wincanton Dr., located off Buncombe Rd., in west Shreveport to a possible kidnapping.

According to Shreveport Police, 23-year-old Edward Williams, reportedly kicked in the door to his ex-girlfriend's home and forced her and her child into his vehicle.

Police say Williams later returned to the scene with both the woman and child after dispatchers called his cell phone. Williams was arrested by police without incident; luckily, no one was injured.

Williams is now in the Shreveport City Jail facing an aggravated burglary charge and two simple kidnapping charges.
