LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police say a former basketball player was killed in a hit & run accident Sunday at Little Rock.
Officers say Jonathan Uchendu, 22, was walking near Shackleford Road and Interstate 630 when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
Police say the vehicle is believed to have been a Nissan Altima, which will now have extensive hood and front-end damage.
Uchendu played high school basketball at Pulaski Robinson. He played at Purdue University as a college freshman, but saw little action and attempted a transfer to Arkansas-Little Rock that apparently fell through.
