CHENEYVILLE, La. (AP) - State police say a 53-year-old Lafayette man died in a single-vehicle accident in Evangeline Parish, about five miles south of Cheneyville.
Troopers say that Theodore Oliver was the passenger in a car driven by 73-year-old Virginia Hebert of Mermentau. Investigators say Hebert was driving north on La. Highway 115 east of La. Highway 181 when her car left the road in a curve, hit a ditch embankment and overturned onto its roof. Oliver, who was wearing a seat belt, was killed.
Hebert also was wearing a seat belt, and sustained minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
