BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Serena Williams has agreed to take part in a benefit in Louisiana to raise money for AIDS charities.
Organizers of the benefit announced Monday that the top-ranked Williams will join other current and former tennis stars including Andy Roddick and Anna Kournikova. The fundraiser is set for Dec. 8 on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge.
The sponsor is the Elton John AIDS Foundation, created by the singer and songwriter. John is scheduled to take part in a celebrity doubles match at the LSU event.
