BENTON, LA (KSLA) - The Red River isn't the place to be boating right now, even if you are a professional angler, and that's causing a problem for this weekend's Women's Bassmaster Tour Championship.
The public boat launches are closed, and boaters are being advised to stay off the river.
We have learned that this weekend's women's championship tournament will go on; however it will not be held on the Red River.
The event will now be held at Cypress Black Bayou in Benton, Louisiana.
Among the 20 female pro anglers that will compete this weekend the biggest name will be Kim Bain-Moore, who competed in the Men's Bass Master Classic that was held on the Red River last February.
Thursday the anglers will get their first official chance to practice on the water.
The female anglers will compete over 3 days for a share of the $94,000 in prizes.
