THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - With a 3.68% enrollment increase since fall 2008, Nicholls State University has placed second out of 8 University of Louisiana System institutions in enrollment percentage boosts.
Only McNeese State has reported a higher figure with a 4.23% increase.
Nicholls president Stephen Hulbert said Thursday that the Thibodaux-based school has become not only the institution for the bayou region but increasingly in other areas.
Hulbert says the jump in enrollment is especially nice with the financial problems the state is having.
