BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - Labor Day unofficially ends summer for area lakes; one of those lakes is Wright Patman in Bowie and Cass counties.
In an effort to honor the guests at Lake Wright Patman, park rangers convened at Rocky Point camp grounds for an educational and fun night this past weekend.
With the help of Bowie County search and rescue team, campers got a first-hand look on how cadaver dogs operate.
According to Park Ranger Karl Keck, this summer has been quite successful.
"We have made it through without any accidents or fatalities water related," says Keck.
The park rangers also presented a boating safety program emphasizing the need to wear life vest and not mixing boating and alcohol.
