BOWIE COUNTY, TX (KSLA) - Investigators want to know why an Ark-La-Tex woman ran off the road and died in a violent one-car crash Sunday.
The crash happened along Bowie County Road 4202 just north of Sims, Texas.
Sheriff James Prince identifies the victim as a 76-year-old woman.
Prince says, it appears her car left the road, flipped over and then hit some trees.
According to Texas DPS Trooper Josh Vera, she was also ejected from the vehicle, and she was not wearing a seatbelt.
A passing motorist soon spotted the crash.
That county road, is actually gravel, and investigators don't believe the crash had happened long before the passing motorist spotted the crash and called authorities for help.
