What will the Shreveport metropolitan area be like in the year 2030? That's 20 years from now.
The crystal ball is a little fuzzy, but in order to bring it into focus, a master plan is now in the works. It's called Shreveport-Caddo 2030 - Great Expectations.
The idea of a master plan is to help shape our community's future in somewhat of an organized and strategic way. The last master plan was done 50 years ago so it's time for a new one
Things like neighborhood development, housing, parks and recreation, transportation needs, economic development, where new schools should be built, and riverfront development will all be a part of the plan.
Here's a tip. You don't want the politicians making all the decisions on this. Your input is essential.
To have your say, or just hear what's being discussed, there will be a number of opportunities. The first one is coming up August 22nd.

Get involved. I'm James Smith.
