LA Assoc. on Compulsive Gambling gets donation

Posted: Updated:

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Louisiana Association on Compulsive Gambling received a large donation today from multiple casinos.

Boomtown Casino and Hotel, DiamondJacks Casino and Resort, Eldorado Casino, Harrah's Louisiana Downs, Horseshoe Casino and Sam's Town all chipped in to show their continued support of responsible gaming.

A check in the amount of $47,500 was presented to Shreveport's Center of Recovery, or CORE, to be used for training, educating and continuing ongoing programs.

Plus it will literally provide a life-line for problem gamblers.

The Louisiana Problem Gamblers helpline is 1-877-770-7867, and it is toll free.

CORE is located at 635 Stoner Avenue in Shreveport.
