LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Little Rock City Council has unanimously approved a previously announced plan for Ray Winder Field.

The city will sell the stadium to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The zoo will get three acres from the War Memorial Stadium Commission for expansion.

The 77-year-old stadium has been vacant since the Arkansas Travelers left for Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock three years ago.

City officials still have to negotiate a price with UAMS, which had bid $1.1 million for the property earlier. The UAMS bid mentioned a research facility or child care center for the property but did not commit to specifics.

The zoo expects to update its master plan to show how its portion of the property can be used.
