JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - A professor at North Carolina State University has been chosen to become the new dean of the College of Engineering at Arkansas State University, the Arkansas school announced Monday.

David B. Beasley has been a professor of biological and agricultural engineering at N.C. State since 1999, when he stopped down as head of the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering.

He will begin his new duties on August 17, according to a news release from Arkansas State.

"His impressive education and vast experience, coupled with his Arkansas roots, will serve the college and the university very well," said Robert L. Potts, chancellor of ASU's flagship campus at Jonesboro.
