Swine flu confirmed at Missouri camp

Associated Press - June 26, 2009 9:34 PM ET

BRANSON, Mo. (AP) - Five swine flu cases have been confirmed at a Kanakuk Kamp in southwest Missouri.

State health officials said Friday the children had attended a Stone County camp near Lampe between June 13 and 24. The children are from Texas, Arkansas, Florida and Oklahoma.

None of them were hospitalized, and all of them have since recovered.

A news release from the camp said the session in which campers became ill ended Thursday as was regularly scheduled. The camp said efforts were made to clean and disinfect the camp before the next session began.

Also this week, a 9-year-old camper and 20-year-old staff member at Camp Sabra in the Lake of the Ozarks tested positive for swine flu.
