CONWAY, Ark. (AP) - The new president of the University of Central Arkansas says he'll try to see that students get the same opportunities he was given as he worked toward the bachelor's degree he obtained from UCA in 1969.
At a news conference yesterday introducing 62-year-old Allen Meadors to the UCA community, he said his years and classes at the school opened his eyes. He said the faculty and others at the school took the time to be with the students and told them to dream big.
Meadors said being chosen to lead the campus where he obtained his first college degree was "a little emotional" for him.
