Man fleeing Caddo deputies runs to mom

CADDO PARISH, LA (KSLA) -Caddo Parish Deputies arrested a man Monday afternoon after they say he led them on a three-mile car chase.

It happened just after 11 o'clock Monday morning on Henderson Gin Road near Blanchard. According to the sheriff's office, a deputy tried to pull Nathaniel Mingo over for not wearing a seatbelt.

The deputy said instead of pulling over, Mingo sped off, eventually jumping out of the car as it hit a tree in a backyard a few miles later.

Authorities say Mingo then ran into his mother's house on old Moorningsport Road. When he was finally brought out, he claimed he didn't know what was going on.

"I woke up and they put handcuffs on me that's all I know.  I don't know what the hell I'm going to jail for," Mingo said.

After surrounding the house, deputies finally entered with the help of Mingo's mother.  Deputies say Mingo is on probation and now faces numerous charges.
