Associated Press - June 1, 2009 6:04 AM ET

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Police say a 20-year-old has been arrested in the Saturday night slaying of a 16-year-old boy.

A call atout 6:30 p.m. sent police to a site on the edge of the city's downtown, where they found the teen-ager, Xavier Williams, suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital, but died a short time after going into surgery.

Police said they later arrested Darren Jamal Davis, 20, of North Little Rock, who is charged with one count of first degree murder and four counts of aggravated assault. Davis is being held without bond.

The slaying was the city's fourth homicide this year, after nine people were killed last year.
