DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal has promised Livingston Parish residents that the state eventually would meet their needs on widening Interstate 12.
Jindal told parish officials and business leaders on Wednesday that the state would not stop until the project is completed.
So far, the state has committed $120 million to widening I-12 from Denham Springs and O'Neal Lane in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Parish and municipal officials have said the work needs to go all of the way to Walker and the project, now getting under way, will just move the traffic bottleneck from O'Neal Lane to the Range Avenue area.
