HOOKS, TX (KSLA) - Rising water levels have forced some residents near Hooks, Texas to stay on their property with no way out.
The Red River's surging water has trapped about 10 families in the Pecan Bend community, which sits on the Red River.
The National Weather Service reports the river is near 29 feet; which is nearly 5 feet above flood levels.
"I come from New Hampshire," says Pecan Bend resident Don Carreau. "I moved down here about 5 years ago. This is the second time I've seen the water up like this."
