BOSSIER CITY, LA (KSLA) - It's a calm start to a wild weekend. "It's high performance, it's precision," said Major Nathan Miller.
The Blue Angels are a group of seven pilots trained to be unforgettable.
"It's the jet noise, it's the precision, it's in the music, the narration," said Miller.
Miller says it is not just a jet, but a symbol. "The freedom we have and the greatness of this country."
It takes years to be a part of this elite crew and once a Blue Angel, your mission reaches far beyond the skies.
"To actually go talk to kids, hospitals or along the crowd line and get to shake their hands," he said.
Their transportation is just a vehicle for a larger message to represent the military, recruit and inspire. "If you have a dream to do it, it just takes precision and hard work."
Being a Blue Angel means being something larger then yourself and when the engines starts, you don't have to be in the cockpit to get the ride of your life. "It makes little kids dream and makes older folks feel like they are young again."
