ASH FLAT, Ark. (AP) - Sheriff's deputies say a 5-week-old infant from Cherokee Village has been taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital after being given an overdose of liquid morphine.
The baby arrived at the Fulton County Hospital around 3 p.m. Monday. Sharp County sheriff's investigator Mark Counts declined to identify the child, who was later taken by ambulance to the Little Rock hospital.
Counts said the infant's mother threatened him during questioning. Counts says he also has "a confession of the matter" on file and charges are pending.
