DUMAS, Ark. (AP) - A Chamber of Commerce official says this Desha County town will take a hit when automotive supplier Federal-Mogul Corp. closes its plant here.
The Arkansas Business newspaper reported Thursday that Sammye Owen, executive director of the Dumas chamber, said 107 workers would lose their jobs in the community of 5,200.
Federal-Mogul, based in Southfield, Mich., is a supplier of powertrain and safety equipment to the automotive industry. It reported a $430 million decline in revenue, to $1.32 billion, for the fourth quarter of 2008 and has announced several layoffs in recent weeks.
