KENNER, La. (AP) - If you like the asymmetric look, check out the Kenner Police Department's auction next month. One item up for auction is a box of 185 single, unmatched earrings. Total value is estimated at $10.
They're among thousands of bits and pieces of unclaimed evidence from cases dealt with long ago. Lt. Wayne McInnis, the department spokesman, says a blue binder of cancelled stamps from Thailand was found in home of man tied in 1994 to a string of burglaries.
There also are department castoffs, such as used computers, radios and 16 old patrol cars.
And lost property that was turned over to police but never claimed. McInnis says a set of gold cuff links and a gold belt buckle, both monogrammed RWM, and a man's wedding ring were collected at a Williams Boulevard motel in 1997.
