TEXARKANA, TX (KSLA) - Texarkana, Texas Police were called to a home in the 200 block of McAuthor Saturday morning, upon arrival, they found the body of 56-year-old Dennis Rambo lying on the floor.
"The dispatchers received a call from neighbors, they said the residence across the street seemed to be suspicious because the door was wide open and it was cold outside, said Shawn Fitzgerald, Public Information Officer with the Texarkana, Texas Police Dept.
According to neighbors who tried to check on Dennis, he was unresponsive.
"I walked over and saw his legs and I knocked on the window with my cane, but I could not arouse him, said Craig Minor.
Police said Rambo was from the DeKalb, Texas area and that he worked in Texarkana as a pharmacist. The home on McAuthor was a rental property, according to police.
Although no official ruling has been made, police say they believe this case is a homicide. "The evidentiary scene shows there was some type of foul play involved," said Fitzgerald.
This is the second suspicious death in the Beverly neighborhood in as many weeks. Earlier this month, a woman was found murdered in a vacant home just blocks from Saturday's scene.
Police say they do not believe the two are related; however, some people are worried about their neighborhood.
Rambo's body is now being sent to Dallas for an autopsy.
Police urge if anyone has any information on this death to please call the Texarkana, Texas Police Department.
