LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas and several of its cities and counties will share in $20.1 million of federal stimulus money intended to enhance energy efficiency.
A news release from the five Democrats in Arkansas' congressional delegation said the money is to be used for projects that reduce total energy use and fossil-fuel emissions and improve energy efficiency statewide. The announcement came from Sens. Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor, and Reps. Marion Berry, Vic Snyder and Mike Ross.
The news release said the largest grant, $9.6 million, will go to the state Energy Office.
According to the release, the $10.5 million remaining will go to these 10 cities and 10 counties:
