Natchitoches parish trustee caught in Opelousas

OPELOUSAS, LA (KSLA) - An inmate who escaped from authorities last weekend is back in custody.

According to CBS affiliate KFLY in Lafayette, Jale Christopher Hopwood, 33, was arrested at an Opelousas hotel at 7:45 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.

Hopwood has ties to both Bossier and Caddo Parish. He was reported missing on Saturday evening.

It is believed that Hopwood walked off a job site in Natchitoches.

He was serving time in Natchitoches Detention Center for Simple Burglary and Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and was scheduled for release October 2019.
