NPSO searches for missing 18-year-old man

NATCHITOCHES PARISH, LA (KSLA) - The Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help on the whereabouts of a Cloutierville man.

According to authorities, Derrick Monette, Jr., 18, walked away from a family member’s home in the 1900 block of La. Hwy 495 around 5:30 p.m. on Friday after he became upset over an undisclosed matter. Later that day, around 11:00 p.m., he was observed at a food outlet on Keyser Avenue.

Unconfirmed reports also reported sightings of Monette on Saturday in Alexandria, LA.

Derrick Monette is described as black male with slender build, green eyes, dark brown curly hair, weighing 130 pounds, and is 6 feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black sweatpants.

Authorities say that family members believe Monette may be attempting to make his way to Memphis, TN, where other family and friends live.
