Remington College hosts open house for displaced Virginia College students

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Remington College is hosting an open house Thursday and hopes former students from Virginia College, which closed its doors last month, visit the campus to see what it has to offer.

“Oh my gosh, there’s a great need in the community,” said Lasonia Ashley, director of admissions at Remington College. “There’s a great need for career development programs and we’re welcoming those students to come and partake in that with us.”

Prospective students had the chance to tour the facilities, chat with instructors and see hands-on training programs.

“We are welcoming students to come and enroll,” said Ashley. “Bring your transcripts and high school diploma.”

If interested students are unable to enroll Thursday, they can return another day the school is open. Remington College will also be operating on Saturday, January 5, and Saturday, January 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to help bring in new students.

Since Virginia College closed its doors for good, Ashley said 25 students have enrolled at Remington College.
