SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Mayor Adrian Perkins has announced three positions on his leadership team, following his official swearing-in ceremony this morning.
Acting Chief Administrative Officer, Sherricka Fields Jones will remain the interim-CAO. Jones was the Deputy CAO under Mayor Tyler.
“I am proud of the team we are assembling,” Mayor Perkins said. “Sherricka Jones is a consummate professional and dedicated public servant with a talent for accounting."
Perkins nominated former Section 3 Chief Mekisha Creal as the city’s next City Attorney. Creal has worked for the Caddo Parish District Attorney since 2012.
“Creal’s passion for public service, sharp intellect, and leadership within the District Attorney’s office make her exceptionally qualified to serve as the City’s Attorney,”says Perkins.
Former Research Attorney at the Court of Appeals, Shanerika Flemings will serve as Special Advisor to Mayor Perkins and oversee his staff.
Perkins describes Flemings as “... a brilliant legal mind who is methodical and prudent.”
Benjamin Riggs, Perkin’s principal speechwriter during his campaign and Communications Liason, will step into his the role of Communications Manager.
"Ben Riggs understands our vision and how to articulate it to the people of Shreveport, as his work on the campaign and the transition demonstrates,” Perkins concluded.
