SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Early Tuesday morning, Big Will’s Fireworks, 2601 Hollywood Avenue, erupted into flames sometime before 3:45. According to Skip Pinkston with the Shreveport Fire Department, flames were seen shooting from the building when firefighters arrived.
No one was hurt, but the building sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.
A portion of Hollywood Avenue is blocked to traffic while emergency crews continue to work.
Pinkston told KSLA News 12 that 29 firefighters responded to the fire and it took 18 minutes to bring the flames under control.
The fireworks inside the building made the task especially difficult. Pinkston said some of the devices exploded inside the building and firefighters had to use extra caution.
Fire investigators are trying to determine where the fire started inside the building and what caused it.
