SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - Shreveport police are on the scene of a shooting on Friday night.
Crews got the call just before 6 p.m. to the 900 block of Babylon Street. That’s in Shreveport’s Cedar Grove neighborhood.
Officers were called regarding a shots fired call. Upon arrival, they found a crashed vehicle in a yard.
Inside, there was a man with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Cpl. Marcus Hines. He was rushed to a Shreveport hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
He is currently undergoing surgery for his wound.
Officers believe that there may have been a passenger in the vehicle.
Hines said that they believe this was also narcotics related. Shell casings were found at the scene.
“We don’t believe this is a random incident,” Hines said. “But we do believe it has some undertones of narcotic activity to it.”
Crime scene investigators are out, but the rain has slowed things down.
