Showtime boxing coming to Shreveport in January

Get ready to rumble

Shreveport boxing announcement

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - The Shrevport-Bossier Sports Commission held a press conference today to announce a major event for the city. Showtime Boxing network’s Next Gen will televise a full line up for a fight night at Louisiana StageWorks on January 11.

The venue will be transformed into a mega boxing arena where local and international fighters will rumble. The event will be televised nationwide and in South Africa to an audience of millions.

Fans of the sport can expect to see an action packed night, as many of the fighters entering the ring are undefeated in their careers. Although there are no title fights, it will be a battle for bragging rights and respect.

Amber Bishop of Bishop Promotions says that boxing fans are in for a special show. She describes the event with one word “Fireworks!"

“Many of the main card fights are undefeated fighters. So somebody’s O’s gotta go, so this is huge," she says.

A press conference will be held prior to fight night on January 8th at Margaritaville, and will be open to the public.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the first fight will start at 6:30 p.m. in the transformed arena. Tickets for the event are available now at akafights.com, starting at $30.
