Missing teen with special needs found safe in Shreveport

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A teen, with special needs, who went missing early Wednesday in Shreveport has been found safe. Authorities say Griffin Scott, 18, of 1500 block of Garland Place, reportedly left his home shortly after 7:30 a.m. He was last seen walking near the County Tavern restaurant, in the 800 block of Brook Hollow Dr.

KSLA News 12 had a crew on the scene.

Police searched nearly three hours for the non-verbal teen, who suffers from a condition that requires medication. He was found around 10:30 a.m.

A search is underway for a teen with special needs in Shreveport. According to Caddo 911 records, more than two dozen officers have responded to Garland Street, between Gentilly Drive and Whitehall Drive.

Authorities say Griffin Scott, 18, of 1500 block of Garland Place, reportedly left his home shortly after 7:30 a.m. He was last seen walking near the County Tavern restaurant, in the 800 block of Brook Hollow Dr.

Scott suffers from a condition that requires medication. He is also non-verbal.

The 18-year-old is approximately six feet tall and weighs between 160-170 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with light colored pants. He was also carrying a green backpack. Persons with any information on the whereabouts of Scott are asked to notify authorities immediately.
