Woman shot in head overnight; man charged with murder

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) - A man is facing a murder charge after a woman was shot in the head early Tuesday morning in Shreveport. It happened around 4 a.m. at a subdivision in the 8700 block of South Emerald Loop, in Cedar Grove.

Upon arrival, police found the victim, a 38-year-old woman, with a gunshot wound to the head. She was rushed to a Shreveport hospital where she died a short time later. Her identity has not been released at this time.

Ramon Adger, 30, has been charged with second degree murder in connection to the shooting. He was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

Officers believe that Adger and the victim were inside a home when they began fighting. At some point, police believe he pulled out a gun and shot her.

Police at the scene said the pair were fighting over a gun.

A woman on the scene, who claims to be a sister-in-law, told KSLA News 12 that a woman was shot by her boyfriend and her son was in the house at the time.

Adger was interviewed by investigators at the Shreveport Police Department.
